Yes, this story is very typical of the American attitude. When at rock bottom, the true american spirit rises up to get the job done.
What a wonderful job you have done in the telling of the story Tara.
In the midst of some of the most terrible hardships that our current generations can't fathom, this little horse from the wrong side of the tracks, proved to be the favorite of the American people. They desperately wanted Seabisquit to win and to prove that while down, there was hope to overcome the challenge and rise to the top. A perfect metaphor for the spirit of the American people. May we still possess that winning spirit. Thank you Tara.
Love the scene in the movie when the guy who would end up his trainer looked at Seabiscuit as he walked by and he felt that the horse saw him and felt like he was thinking what the hell are you looking at.
He did more than win a race, he lifted the spirits of Americans during the Great Depression. I always felt sorry for Red Pollard not being able to enjoy the ride.
What an amazing horse! Seabiscuit was a horse with a great heart. I saw the movie and loved it. It was especially wonderful because it was the true story of an underdog getting an unlikely victory and not by a small distance either! Worth the wait for the post, Tara.

Just ‘look em in the eye’, and GO FOR IT! The way our nation was born!💯🇺🇸
BOTH descendants of Man O' War but one is from the wrong side of the tracks! That's US! Taking on the world from the wrong side of the tracks!
An interesting diversion from the Great Depression, to be sure. And it is admirable that the underdog pulled out the win.

Love this story about Sea Biscuit and War Admiral and that the American people were benefitted with lifted spirits. God Bless America!
"... he defeated War Admiral by four lengths." lol
That wasn't a win, that was a beatdown... lol
I'm sure if you had a radio it was tuned in for that race. Yea for the underdog! Thank you Tara 😊
Gripping story, I felt like I was watching the race!
Thanks again, Tara Ross, for another great history lesson! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks for this story, TR! 🇺🇲
Always love reading about this race.
Pretty exciting
Ironically Seabiscuit was the answer to a question on Jeopardy the other night.
