Bartlett knew that true freedom has a foundation of morality and requires responsibility to maintain it. These are things too many modern Americans ignore.

🇺🇸 I wonder if the Founding Fathers had any thoughts on how long we could actually keep this grand experiment in government.

I wonder if 250 years was the over or under.

I think his statement is as important today as it was 249 years ago.

We are definitely at a pivotal point where we have to show we have the moral fortitude that will keep us free. I pray we do. The alternative is unthinkable. These kind of posts are always welcome, Tara.

A question for his day, and certainly for us, today, as well. Do we? Thank you, Tara Ross, for reminding us of a question every generation must answer for itself.

Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS made America the Greatest, most Prosperous and Generous nation the world had ever known!

Our nation is now on a path to erase Freedom and create dependency on bigger and bigger government!

This movement towards dependency must be stopped now!

How?

We must educate our children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors, as to what made America “America the Beautiful!

I’m sorry, I just go on and on!

But I will continue!

Before recent history people came to our nation to BUILD a better life for themselves and their future generations!

Today people come here to get free housing, food, clothing and more all at working people expense!

Thank you, Tara, for this important story concerning our nations founding!

Mr. Josiah Bartlett, were he alive today, would likely say, I warned America and today she has a fraction of the freedom we gave her. She didn't have the virtue to keep herself free. He would likely add that America has lost most of her virtues and it won't be long before Americans don't have any of the original freedoms. How long can she survive? Thank you Tara.

It's very sad that a question like this is even being considered.

The foundation for virtuous living and thinking is laid out in the home and promotes freedom and discipline, which, seems to be severely lacking in the present state of our society. Everyone seems to be doing what is right in their own eyes.

We are indeed at that time again and I think Trump's election was a step in the right direction. We still have a long way to go but there's hope the Republic will stand!
