President Adams was absolutely correct. You are also correct Tara, regarding the last few years. The Constitution may have only been amended 28 times; however, the burocracy has claimed much power it isn't entitled to have, and the three branches of government have mitigated their separateness by becoming political, thus leaning in a common direction.

Thank you Tara.

You too are exactly correct and it’s frightening. Our government has eroded our lives and unless we vote otherwise it will continue.

It is amazing how many people don't understand what President Adams said. Tyranny abounds in this country today.

Words of truth written over 200 years ago, seem to have been forgotten over time. Thank you Tara Ross for reminding us of lessons thought of in the past.

As citizens, I feel many have given away too much to government and lost forever control. They don't know how to begin to get control back. Who can they trust....

The bureaucracy of our government is way out of control! They appear to believe it is a new branch. Our political parties have become beholding to big money, forgetting they work FOR US! We need to remember too. “We the People”

The real problem seems not to be with our government; people voted in the best money could buy. The real problem seems to be apathy. One hundred million eligible voters sat out the last general election, thus allowing the third branch of government--The Supreme Court--to run roughshod over the Congress that fears to go on legislating for the good of the country instead of concentrating on cultural issues that divide us. Good government requires good, experienced candidates, not cultural warriors, and a judicial system that is truly selected on nonpartisan criteria. I'm not sure anymore if it's even wise to allow presidents of any party to personally select members of the court, until this era of polarization comes to an end.

But no one asked her to make a website for them. . There was no case. The court made a new law out of the air. And creating a website is not art.

The court did not create a law; they reviewed the Colorado law to see if it violated the Constitution. The majority agreed that part of the law did violate the first amendment. The government cannot compel someone to promote speech they do not support.

The premise of the case would be the same as the KKK forcing a black web designer to design a special website for one of their up coming rallies, or a Neo Nazi group forcing a Jewish person to design a website for an anti-Jew rally, or the Pork council to force a Muslim web designer to design an “Eat Pork” campaign.

It’s heartbreaking to realize how much of our freedoms we have lost especially in the last three years. Although we know it has been happening slowly for a long time. There are little glimmers of hope, but not sure our fading liberties can be saved and the country made strong again.
