"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered"
"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
As Paine wrote these words, Washington's army was struggling and seemed on the verge of defeat. Just a few days later, Washington would lead his men across the Delaware River on a daring Christmas raid. The Americans subsequently won a stunning victory at Trenton, and it gave new life to the Patriot effort.
Perseverance and determination has always characterized this great country of ours. #GodBlessAmerica
A longer version of Paine's quote is below. Applicable during these trying times as well, wouldn't you say?
"These are the times that try menโs souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph."
Happy Friday!

The hell we face is big, tough and scary, but like Paine said, itโs worth it!
Happy Friday!
Yes, the words of Thomas Payne seem very relevant to our current time.
We have so much to lose but, we have so much to gain and we cannot quit fighting now. The momentum of efforts to destroy what our forefathers have given us seems to be gaining. So, we must dig in, spread the word and, fight to keep our freedom and independence. God willing, we will win because we are Americans, free and independent. Thank you Tara.
