Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday with not one, but two Honorees. The B-17 reconnaissance flight over the Solomon island of Bougainville left the crew mostly wounded or dead but the flight successfully completed its mission. Captain Jay Zeamer and Second Lt, Joseph Sarnowski received the MOH for their sacrifice. The B-17 was crippled but, like it's crew, it completed its mission. Another couple of Heroes from the Greatest Generation along with the other heroes from the crew did what was necessary to complete the objective. Thank God for all who have served or currently serve this great nation.

Zeamer and Sarnoski were awesome examples of the Greatest Generation and I wonder if our country still has the same mettle. Then again, I see some great examples from our current generation as we review the MOH awardees who are current. We are now several generations removed from the WW 2 veterans but we still can produce awesome citizen soldiers, Marines, and sailors. May Zeamer and Sarnoski rest in peace knowing that their efforts were not in vain. Thanks again, Tara, for bringing these wonderful and moving stories of heritage.

Amazing to see volunteers for a flight so dangerous, but that is the fighting spirit of our military. What must be done will be done and that's that. Kudos to all our warfighters.

The B-17 was a workhorse and hard to bring down. Maybe it was all the Rosie the riverters hard work that the B-17 held together so well.

Thank you Tara for all you do. 😊

A powerful story of a crew of heroes!!! What they accomplished was impossible but with courage and Divine help they did it! How terrifying it must have been on that plan as bullets flew into it from everywhere! Yet they all did their job and more and one crew member gave all. Thanks for another story of the greatest generation ever!!!

🇺🇲 Another amazing story. Heroes who were always just doing their job. This time, all located in a B-17. Wow.

Thanks for their story, TR. 🇺🇸

Brave men who remained calm under fire.

The other one i can think of is two men in Mogadishu. They roped down fron a helicopter to protect a downed pilot.
