A true gentleman to the end, protecting his wife and settling his final affairs. A model of a man we should all try to live up to.

It really was a sad day for the USA. Insistence and persistence in forming a government “of the people and for the people” allowed him to make a tremendous contribution to these United States of America. George Washington played a role of more importance than any other single figure of the American Revolution.

Always in command, George Washington settled his affairs and directed the disposition of his body, as he lay dying.

Mr. Washington established the Presidency with firsts and his example was followed by his successors. God was his guide in war, in leadership and in death. Thank you Tara.

His service to the nation was an example to all his successors and unfortunately not heeded for several decades now.

Washington was a unique man in his honesty, respect for God and true love for country. He died as he lived and is a excellent example for others to follow. A repeat is always welcomed whether we’ve read it before or it’s new. Reminders are good. I have no idea who the aviation pioneer was so I look forward to your post on it next week.

Any [freedom loving] nation would have envied George Washington as (their king), but Washington knew the world history of any king-ship bestowed on a human being.

Wisdom of human nature, was one of his leadership qualities.

A truly, God fearing man for all times.

Thanks Tara.

Washington was an incredible person. I wish that some of the candidates for president had his intelligence, honesty , and humility. He put his country before himself and did not choose to be king or dictator.
