“I wasn’t surprised. I had 40 men to look after.” Says it all doesn’t it?

A man (or woman) never knows just what they can achieve until circumstances arise that bring it out of them. As with all MOH awardees, First Lt Marm was not thinking of himself or the danger he was in but of his men and he did what he had to do. I am so grateful the Lord made me an American and that I can hear wonderful stories of our brave military.

Two telling quotes...after being shot, "it kind of ruined my day" and "I had 40 men to look after.”

The words may change a bit, but the courage and humility...always the same.

Thank you, sir! 🇺🇸

Great Story Tara, I always like your MOH Mondays. Walter “Joe” Marm is a true patriot, not going to wait around for a draft notice, enlisted on his own and went to Ranger School, not an easy training program to complete.

His comment I had to check to see if I still had my teeth. Truly reflective of a great hero, his selflessness only to be be concerned for his men, how courageous

Thank you Tara

Walter Marm, an American Hero, awarded the MOH for extreme bravery in the face of unrelenting enemy fire. WOW. His actions obviously saved the lives of his men, as he crippled the enemy's ability to rain machine gun fire on his troops. His severe injury probably saved the lives of other enemy soldiers, but it ended his one man attack.

An unsuspecting young man stepped from the ranks of civilian life to volunteer to fight for his country during an unpopular war. That is what an American Hero looks like.

God bless you Mr. Marm and God bless all who honorably wear or wore the uniform of an American military person.

Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.

Thank you Tara for another great MOH Monday. Lieutenant Marm definitely took care of business that day putting himself in harm's way for his men!

Quiet by nature, not a fighter yet when the situation called for courageous action 1st Lieutenant Marm stepped up and did what he considered his duty. America is fortunate to have such men defending our country.

The love shown by Marm for his own men and those he was trying to reach was evident. We should all strive for that love.
