Wow! What a great history lesson Tara. I think we have forgotten that we are the United States of America and have given too much power to the Executive Branch of our government. We need step back and look deeper at who we send to Congress and the Presidency (Vice President included) to truly represent (not lead) โWe The Peopleโ.
If you look at how many Executive Orders have been executed by every President you may just be surprised.
One cannot help but admire the wisdom of our founding fathers, including those entrusted with "sealing the deal" in a proper treaty. They excelled in their task.
Yes!! Well done, I particularly liked your PS - very few realize the reason that portrait remained unfinished This old History Prof. is proud of you. Great Job!,!!! John
Yes, Tara, I was not taught of the long period of time between the fighting war and the formal peace treaty with the British. Thank you for your continued teaching, Tara.
I believe that I have learned more American History from you than from my history courses in public school and college.
We had won the War.....now we needed to show the world who we were as "united" and win their respect. We've all learned in life that winning the war is only the first step...it's what we do next that establishes the true "Win". May GOD Bless The United States of America.
So typical of those who believe they are entitled such as the British. We must learn from this history lesson regarding conduct & attitude so we donโt make the same mistake. Love the back story Tara. It brings so much to the table.
So, even though there had been military defeat of the British, the crown still seemed to work to divide the United colonies, thereby weakening the whole. The British government surely didn't want to give in, in any measure.
Thanks for the lesson. I never knew of the negotiation park of the war. You are awesome Tara.
I'm so proud of the beginning of the USA. These were great men! ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ

โTo divide the colonists and turn them against each otherโ!
The Tyrants tried to make it work back then and we must not let it work now!
โLife, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happinessโ made America Great then and continues to do the same today!
Thank you Tara!

Brings to mind that today we are not respected by our adversaries because they can see that we are not united.
Sounds like the king was a bit of a sore loser.

Even today, forces are trying to divide the States to weaken the whole. E Pluribus Unum.
Thanks. Good history lesson.
๐บ๐ฒ Another lesson I hadn't learned...until today. Thanks, TR! ๐บ๐ธ
