Thank you for illuminating our knowledge on the history of the New Year Eve ball, Tara. It’s a wonderful tradition. Although I have never seen it in person it’s always exciting to see it on line. You’ve shared great history lessons with us and it’s always appreciated. Looking forward to another year of learning more about American historical events and people this year. Happy 2025! The best is yet ahead of us. Wishing everyone a hopeful, healthy and happy new year.

Being a writer of historical fiction, I prefer Tara Ross' posts covering the 18th and 19th centuries. But the history of New York's New Year's celebration is fascinating.

Keep looking forward in 2025!

Don’t look back, at what [what was negative] in America, but forward, with great expectancy of God’s bounty on a nation of faithful citizens.

We can’t [undo] what the dark times, yet we can’t be a part of, what can be a high mark in the next hundred years history of a great society of peace keepers.

Look up!😃
