The US Army saved him and he was determined to save the soldiers of his US Army. I am happy to know the soldier overcame the antisemitic leader and brought the truth enabling the much deserved MoH. Thank you Tara for highlighting this hero.

Oh my, Tara! This is a beautiful story of a very special man! Against all odds he did his duty. If any one had reason to be bitter and feel like a victim it would be Mr. Rubin. Yet he was a patriotic and loyal citizen. Obviously, he recognized the goodness of his “adopted” country and never forgot the Americans who had saved him as a child. He focused on the good and didn’t dwell on the one bad apple he encountered. He was a survivor! He gave back in full measure to other prison and saved many lives. Excellent MOH on Tuesday!

Wow. What an amazing story and what an amazing man and hero. Tibor "Ted" Rubin survived so so much during WW2 and Korea and his tremendous story nearly didn't survive because of one Antisemitic man. Mr. Rubin, my humblest apologies for the manner in which an American Hero was treated. Just because of his religious beliefs. His MOH was late but just. God bless Tibor Rubin and God bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation.

Thank you Tara for another amazing story of an American War Hero.

Had he not survived imprisonment in World War Part II, those 40 POWs wouldn't have survived in Korea. 🕊🕊

The anti-Semite should have been court martialed, IMHO, if only for sending a single soldier to guard a hill during an enemy offensive. That's dereliction of duty to me.

If I get hard to believe that antisemitism played a role in frag of a US Army soldier

He could have made excuses, that his sergeant hated him and he couldn't perform, but his whole life was built around a can-do attitude. Working through fear and rage he won the day. Even as a prisoner he lived for others. Well done, sir!

That "antisemitic" sergeant should get a non-medal for his despicable, un-American actions.
