Another great story that was never taught in history classes. Tara Ross you are amazing in bringing these exciting tales to us each day. Perhaps if history teachers of the ‘60’s’ had taught these historical events instead of emphasizing dates and places we would have been more interested in learning about history.

Thank you Tara. And now, thanks to you, many more know of Col. Thomas Knowlton of "Knowltons Rangers". His actions were heroic and he helped win the day, while losing his own life at the battle of Harlem Heights.

I cannot say I have read about this patriot prior to this because his feats would have been etched into my memory. What an honor we have to live in the country and liberty that the likes of Thomas Knowlton gave their lives in crafting our nation. Thank you, Tara!

It’s good to learn about this little known patriot. There seem to be so many strong and brave Americans like Thomas Knowlton who were forgotten in history. He played a major part in the Revolutionary War. Washington obviously knew his worth. Thanks for sharing his story, Tara.

The unsung heroes, of our nation, will often be sent home in flag draped boxes with no medals attached to their chests. Their heroic acts may only be known to a few. Hopefully,, someone will relate the [true story], in an epitaph or journal so history books will share how “a soldier” gave his best life to his men on the battlefields.

Thanks, Tara., for sharing Col. Knowltons last battle.

Another great American who should be remembered! Everybody ought to know about his efforts for our independence.

Thomas Knowlton, a name that until today I had not known. He, along with so many others seems "lost" to we their beneficiaries of their efforts to gain independence. Let's remember them.
