Washington’s wisdom and the protection of Divine Providence seem to have launched us as a nation. Thank you for helping us witness through the history you share that our freedom has been sustained through courageous people and our protective God. May we continue the never-ending battle for freedom in our present-day challenges.

Am somewhat suspicious of the source of the plot who was a Loyalist (Ketcham) to the Brits.

Today our enemies are numerous. They not only come from outside our borders but as Washington put it he wanted to "form a secret committee to confer on the dangers to which this colony is exposed from it's intestine enemies". Today these are the enemies that threaten our American Heritage and have given the population a "gut punch" by oppressing citizens by" fundamentally transforming" America by the removal of Constitutional rights. Washington's response was swift justice for all to see. We should take a lesson.

Providence again, in my opinion, saved George Washington from a traitor, Thomas Hickey and others who would have captured or killed him and probably have ended or detoured our eventual victory over the British.

Thank God that Washington received advance warning and was able to stop the treasonous action. As was instilled in me during my own military training, treason, particularly during war, is a capital offense. General Washington was very astute, having his troops witness the hanging of the treasonous man Thomas Hickey. Being witness to the hanging was a good teaching experience for the troops, a lesson carried to the present. Thank you Tara.
