Thank you for your continued articles, honoring our country and its heroes. I was honored to serve aboard the Navy's USS Robert H. McCard [DD 822]. It was named for Sgt. Robert H. McCard, who like Thomas Baker, earned the Medal of Honor, posthumously, for heroic actions on Saipan.
It’s Monday and another great Medal of Honor post! It’s always amazing to read of the courage and selfless acts of our military veterans. Thomas Baker is no exception. I always hope for survival, but often it costs their life in the face of such bravery. Eight bullets; eight dead enemy. RIP Mr. Baker.
Sgt. Thomas Baker died like the hero that he was. He died while fighting until he had no more ammunition and he left an enormous number of dead enemies in his wake.
His posthumous MOH was apparently deserved a number of times over the course of the enemies last stand on Saipan.
God bless Mr. Baker, may he rest in peace. And, may God bless each and every American fighting man and woman who have fought or served for our continued freedom. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
What a selfless action by a man who knew his end was near. May he rest in peace. We cannot afford to forget Baker’s service to his country.
Sgt. Baker was determined to push for freedom, no matter the cost to himself. We all can consider that as a good example.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Love for fellow man and love for country. Two remarkable traits in short supply today.
Sgt.Baker is the definition of a Hero RIP SOLDIER! Thank you Tara 😉
