Love Texas History. It is a rugged story of what sinewed dedicated people can and will accomplish. While spending over half of my life living in Texas and while reading the history I also worked in many of the locations of where the history happened. It was inspiring and awesome. Texas does not leave your heart nor soul. Back when the woke were threatening the Alamo, my thoughts were, you are about to make a final mistake of your life. You're not in Disney World now Toto. Texans still are not pushovers. They thrive in their continued resolve.

I'm glad you're sharing about the Texas Revolution. There's many parallels to the American Revolution.

As with our fight for freedom in 1776 we also had wins and losses during the war for independence from a tyrannical leader. Fortunately we prevailed months later, but as you like to say: perhaps that a story for a different day. 😂😂

The Texas march to freedom is celebrated with the same ferocity as the American Revolution. There is the saying "never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he isn't, you don't want to embarrass him. If he is, he'll tell you!"

LOL! I never met a Texan who was not proud of Texas! There may be some out there, but I don't think the Democrats in Texas would even side with them! One thing about a Texan, they are Texan first and foremost! And I am an immigrant from the other 49! I guess I have been here long enough to call myself Texan, though. And one Grandfather and another Grandmother were born her as were my grandchildren!

Thank you Tara for another history lesson and another one that I hadn't heard before. Old Ben Milam was unknown to me. Thanks to Milam, the Texicans were kicking butt.

Just as a side note, having been born in Texas and living in San Antonio for 10+ years as a youth, the Alamo was always one of my favorite places to explore. ❤️

You really should. They have done some exciting archeological work and discovered even more! The chapel's paint has been discovered and it was beautiful!

A new lesson on Texas. I know of the future one but this is also important to understand how Texas became an independent country first then a state.

Love learning about my adopted state Texas. It’s a great state with a rich history. Don’t miss California. 😄 It was a good trade. This is new to me. The Alamo is more well known. Very interesting!
