We don't stop fighting because we get old, we get old because we stop fighting! 😉

Thank you Tara for another new (to me) story of another American Hero, General Seth Pomeroy. At the age of 69, (3 score, plus10), Pomeroy joined the Continental Army to fight against the British Crown. Pomeroy may have died preparing to fight but his spirit lived on among the troops. I don't believe that I have heard of Mr Pomeroy but I can imagine that he was respected and remembered by his fellow soldiers, most of whom were inexperienced in warfare. At 3 score plus 19, I don't believe that I could successfully fight but I would be willing to give my all, were I to have been in the same position as General Pomeroy.

May God bless General Seth Pomeroy and may God continue to bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation.

What a wonderful story of our fight for freedom! Proof that it wasn't just a bunch of young hot heads that got us into that fray, but ppl of all ages gathered to throw off the chains of slavery to an uncaring master. Today we are fighting for our country's life, finding fraud and abuse in the system. Keep up the fight, Trump and your determined band!!! We are with you.

Great history lesson of a forgotten hero, I have never heard about him and his service to our country. Even at his age when he more than outlived the lifespan of that generation. Thanks again Tara for the stories of the almost forgotten heroes of our Revolutionary war!!

When fully invested in a movement, you keeping going forward/building, stalling, or giving up just isn't an option. That line of thinking is what has driven colonists, and patriots from day one.

He was a great example that the desire to fight for freedom doesn't disappear with age. What a great patriot, whovgave his all. Thanks Tara.

At 69 years old myself, I can only imagine the grit that this patriot had to get out into battle. I may not be able to run with the young bucks, but I can still pull a trigger...

I go cheerfully,” Pomeroy wrote his son, “for I am sure the cause we are engaged in is just, and the call I have to it is clear, and the call of God.”

Impressive! If God called him, he was going, 69 or not and despite the counsel of his flesh and blood advisors.

That was wonderful to read. I am almost 70 and could feel the challenge of Seth's desire to fight vs the physical demands on his body, as I read about his deeds. War requires youth and stamina, but a revolution to free a nation from the bondage of tyranny, requires everyone to fight. Thank you Mr. Seth Pomeroy for your courage, strength, and determination to help in our fight for independence. Thank you Tara for bringing this story to us. I feel we are fighting once again for our nation. I am appalled to see our Congressional members fighting in support of fraud and waste. It seems as though honor and integrity no longer exists with many of these individuals.
