His unwillingness to stop, even against overwhelming odds, halted the enemy advance. His action saved lives and showed the true American spirit.

Another American hero, that did not know of the words, “I give up!”

God had a plan for his young life!

Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday. Corporal Rodolfo "Rudy" Hernandez thought he wouldn't survive his devastating injuries so he went on a bayonet charge after his rifle jammed. Left for dead, he was later found barely alive. Mr. Hernandez was undoubtedly a very brave man who served his country with honor.

Another amazing soldier who survived what appeared to be mortal wounds. And he remained humble about it. No embellished story, but just wanted to go out fighting.r

Here is another soldier who felt it was a privilege to serve “our”country. Loyalty and gratitude are marks of every patriotic American. Rudy Hernandez is another perfect example of going above and beyond for his country. He overcame those horrific and life threatening injuries and is a true hero. Every Medal of Honor story reinforces the heavy cost of war. There are many whose stories we will never know. We are grateful for those who fought willingly and without hesitation risked their lives.
