“The adrenaline was running real hard,” he chuckled, “and we were movin’, shootin’, and no salutin’, I guarantee you!” All the while, remember, Nett was injured, but refusing to leave his men.
Lt. Robert Nett was definitely an American Hero for his devotion to duty while seriously wounded and for his leadership. I doubt that many could continue to lead with his injuries.
His MOH was well deserved and I love how he accepted the honor on behalf of his men. Thank you Tara.
It’s remarkable that surviving Metal of Honor awardees most often give credit to the men who served with them. They are leaders, but they know the value of their team members. It must be pure determination that enabled First Lieutenant Nett to keep going in spite of his serious wounds. Nice to learn about another one of our courageous MOH recipients.
Always humble but never cowed. Determined to take it wherever it has to go regardless of consequences. The true definition of honor. It does in fact take a team of dedication of the leader to his team and from the team to their leader. No halfway measures will suffice…
Incredible action. Incredible man leading a great team to accomplish an extremely difficult mission. He may have been partially correct about his company being so deserving, but it would not have completed the task as well without his leadership. Thanks for bringing this man’s story to us to remember him, Tara Ross!
Shared honor. Nett knew the value of his band of brothers and how important each was to winning the day. Well done, sir!

🇺🇸 Courage, a sense of duty, and true humility...seems to be the pattern of someone who's earned the MoH.
Thank you! 🇺🇸
Betsy Tara Ross shot in the neck and kept fighting? That's what I'm talking about! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
