Tara, another American Hero whose story I didn't know until now. Thank you for another MOH Monday.

Robert, "Bobby" McTureous, another of the Greatest Generation, had to fight just to get into the Marine Corps by working to save money for hernia operations needed to be accepted into the Marines. Then, he proves his heroism with feats of great bravery to save other American lives while sacrificing his own. His MOH was earned while Mr. McTurney did what he would probably say, was just doing his job.

I am glad that his hometown has marked his heroism with a memorial so that his life and bravery would be remembered.

Robert McTureous was an outstanding American. He was a true patriot. He went above and beyond to even get accepted into the military. Once in he gave his best and last measure for the country he loved and his fellow Marines. A brave and selfless heart. I’m glad his hometown honored him on top of the MOH. We need to remember our heroes from every generation. My favorite Proud to be an American day…Medal of Honor Mondays!
