You said it all Tara. SSgt. Robert Kennemore was "another humble hero, giving his all, and expecting nothing in return".
And, Kennemores words to President Truman, "it's more than I deserve ". This man fought in two wars and gave his legs in order to save his men. A braver man would be hard to find. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
I really can't say anymore than others have about this brave man - so humble to say he didn't deserve the medal after all he did for his country and fellow soldiers. I am so proud to be an American and to have men like that defending my country.
Simper Fi Staff Sergeant Kennemore. As you said, “you tripped” your men gave a different story otherwise you would not have been awarded the MOH. Like most other recipients, you are humble to a fault. My salute to a fellow noncom as you deserve the respect you earned. Hoo Raa Devil Dog.
I’m so glad his men gave the true story of what he actually did. Honorable praise always comes from others not from ourselves. He definitely deserved the MOH award.
Staff Sergeant Kennemore’s humility is an outstanding quality of all the Medal of Honor recipients. A great Marine and a great American. The cost of our freedom is high. Kennemore is just one of so many that were willing to sacrifice on behalf of others and expect nothing in return.
Most do not feel the did anything special. I feel that is normal as they are pumped up and trying to remain alive or keep others alive. God bless them all.
Staff Sgt. Kenemoore's attitude to being awarded the MOH is so much like that of the other awardees that received it. And yet his actions saved lives of those that served with him. Let us remember him and his dedication to his duty and his fellow servicemen.

My sentiments exactly Wally 💯 Correct!
“It’s greater than I deserve.” Humble. A true American trait. For his and others sacrifice, there is no cost to high for our country to repay them.

🇺🇲 I'm at a loss for words. Thank you, TR, for this story...an amazing display of courage, strength and humility. 🇺🇸
He was definitely part of the Frozen Chosin the Marines speak of! Thank you Tara 😊
Thank you Tara. And now we know.
Thank you Staff Sergeant Kennemore. You are an American Treasure.
The survivor guilt driving this humility has to be overwhelming. This is definitely a calling, for which I'm forever grateful.
Semper Fi, Marine.
Bravery and humility - two traits of a true hero. Semper Fi !
Thank you, Tara.
