Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember and honor those who gave their lives to ensure our freedom and our allies freedom . . . but that does not mean we cannot be thankful and honor them all year long by the way we live our lives. Thank you to the known and unknown. Thank you, Tara, for helping us remember.

Perfect Medal of Honor story as we recognize and think about those who died for our freedom on this Memorial Day. Robert Foley exemplifies the spirit in every one of them. He was more afraid for his soldiers than for himself. His men followed his lead. They were fighting with him. He wears his medal, as others have, in remembrance of those who served with him especially those who died or were wounded. A recent video I came across again shows President Trump in 2017 visiting Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day. He came across a little 3 year old boy who with his mother were there to honor his father. Trump showed compassion and let the little boy show him his father’s grave. Trump spoke with the little boy and the boy showed him pictures of his father. Trump also spoke to the mother. What a beautiful picture of the Commander in Chief displaying such care even for the very youngest. It was not planned. The videos and photos were all random. They caught Trump honoring the fallen and those left behind. Thank you, Tara, for all your efforts to keep the fire of patriotism burning strong and bright. Enjoy the freedom others gave their lives to preserve for all Americans.

Memorial Day is a special day for me always. My signature of ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 is in honor of my three very good friends and Marines I served with that didn’t come home alive from Vietnam. Memorial Day is a somber day of remembering those who served our Country and are no longer with us. 😢

Heartfelt sympathy! Simple words, but deeply meant. Thankful for their service and for yours, Edward.

"It's not about me", is a common thread in these stories. It is always about those who gave their lives.

Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday, on this Memorial Day. Those heroes, who gave their lives for our continued freedom, should be especially remembered. Freedom isn't free.

Robert F. Foley received his MOH for his bravery and determination to keep more of his men from being killed or injured and, he and all MOH awardees wear their Medal in remembrance of those who gave their lives for those of us who live in this Great Nation.

Excellent choice for Memorial Day! But I guess almost any Medal of Honor story would be. Thanks Tara.

We learn from those we knew who didn’t come home and are better people from learning of their character, bravery and sacrifice. So important to remember. Thank you Tara for bringing them to light.

A great testimony from those who came back and received the MOH, they all say the same thing, they wear the Medal for those who didn't come home. Today we remember those brave men and women who gave all.

To not be grateful, humbled, and yet honored by the deaths of those who gave their lives for those around them, in service to our country, and, therefor for our freedom is to be ignorant due to not being informed or by misunderstanding, to selfishly ignore the sacrifice for their liberty, or to despise the good works of humanity in efforts to contain and/or eradicate evil influence from the world. My nation has never been perfect or fair, but it is the greatest ever at allowing humanity to live in liberty with freedom of choice of how we choose to “pursue happiness” without impinging on the freedoms of others. And that is why these men died in service to their country and fellow humanity.

Thank you, Tara Ross, for your poignant reminder of these men off valor who went so far and above their duty and expected service in usually giving their lives so others might live. And many thanks to Robert Foley.
