I believe that Army Rangers are some of the toughest of the tough . . . there are others, of course, but these guys are certainly a “go to”. I am equally impressed by what he had done by age 14 ! He was surely in the right place at the right time. Thank you, sir, and RIP. Especially at this time of year, I am thankful for you.
Lt. Ralph Puckett Jr. Was awarded the MOH many years following the action and at the age of 94, he lamented that the honor should have gone to his men. Typical feelings from an awardee.
Colonel Puckett was honored well after the action but his heroism is still legend. God bless you Sir and God bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation.
The humility of Puckett seems to be a very pronounced characteristic of those awarded the Medal of Honor. As an American and a veteran, I am so humbled by these men. However, they have honored us, the American people, with their incredible actions above and beyond the call of duty.
Blessings to the families! May their descendants never forget your bravery, sacrifices, and the disciplines of faithful and honorable men. Peace and rest to you.
Another wonderful story of bravery and Derring-do! His willingness to expose himself to make the kills easier for his men, basically being the bait, was astounding!
Col. Puckett was another hero willing to share the credit for his success!
