Gentle eyes that see so much,

paws that have the quiet touch,

Purrs to signal "all is well"

and show more love than words could tell.

Graceful movements touched with pride,

a calming presence by our side

A friendship that takes time to grow

Small wonder why we love them so.

PFC Hammer was one lucky feline as was the Army team who took him in. Man and animal seem to find and need each other, wherever they are. PFC Hammer was one of the lucky ones. Thank you Tara.

All troops should be sent home at the end. That includes all humans, dogs, cats, horses, mules or any other animal that aided, supported and served our veterans and thereby serving our Country.

God Bless the USA

Our cats are all kittens who at various times found their way to our farm. Our lives are richer for their companionship and love. God bless all those who brought Hammer home. Thanks for sharing this story, Tara.

Pets such as SGT Hammer become family members. They may be "just an animal" to some, but deserve such appreciation for the role they serve. He became more than just a pet as he consoled the soldiers who adopted him. Pet therapy is real!

May this mighty mouser rest in peace.

Thank you Tarra for bringing such a great story about a kitty who brought so much to our troops and then was rewarded by being reunited with his person. PFC Hammer gave and was given great love.
