So interesting since according to his deposition taken at the Appomattox courthouse in 1820 my Compatriot ancestor, Sampson Evans, fought at Red Bank/Fort Miflin as a Private in the PA Militia then later at, Guilford Courthouse as well as Yorktown as a Sargent in the Virginia Militia Rifle Company under Col. Lynch and Campbell. I believe "Hercules" and Sampson may have crossed paths and fought along side each other during the Revolution

Very interesting! No matter the weight of what he carried on his shoulder, it was in his heart to help our (and his) nation to become free. Many soldiers fought in many battles, his height and size however most likely gave him more strength than others. This was a great story, Tara, and one I have never heard before. I do hope you know more about him and will write of him in another story! Great lesson again, Tara!

I also love this platform. Thank you for sub stacking and having some other platform to write on.

Now I want to learn more about Pedro (Peter) Francisco! 🇺🇸

Men of yore. Mr. Francisco was undoubtedly given superhuman attributes because of his size and his ability to persevere while repeatedly being wounded. Regardless, men such as Peter Francisco gave us our freedom and we owe him and all who fought so that we could enjoy our lives in the greatest Nation on earth. Thank you Tara.
