The last words heard from Peter Dalessondro as the Germans descended upon him were: “OK, mortars, let me have it—right in this position!” Amazingly, he survived.
It amazes me to see these stories of such bravery and always leads me to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!! His intent to protect his units, even at the risk of his own life was well beyond the call of duty. Thanks, Tara, for these great stories.

Another amazing account of a brave American risking everything to do his duty for his country. As the son of a WW2 Vet, I will always admire and proclaim these patriots as just that; Patriots to the Core! American greatness is real. Don't let anyone ever convince you otherwise.
