Washington stayed with his army. He wanted to go home, but he knew he needed to be with his army. He had a great care and personal interest in his men. What a difference he made in the outcome. Wouldn’t it be great if we had leaders like him today?

Thank you, for this effort to educate each of us who are willing to learn.

As a complacent people, we seldom think of the years leading up to and in between 1776 and the actual establishment of our nation.

With your help, I hope to become more aware too.

Washington’s wisdom and understanding of his troops and the times were phenomenal. Seriously, I don’t think America has ever had a general that was in anyway equal or superior to George Washington. The man was remarkable!

I can only imagine what Washington and the other founders would do if they were alive today. I’ve often wondered what the people of Ancient Rome thought about the collapse of their empire as it was happening and I’m afraid we are about to find out!

Washington was a visionary possessing courage, logic, compassion, utilizing all of those attributes to lead and promote the flourishing of those he would lead. Is it any wonder why American citizens are drawn to those who lead who have the best interest of the people at top of mind. Americans are hungry for that kind of leadership.

I enjoyed learning this lesson. My history book wasn't as knowledgeable. Thanks Tara.

We have this country because of men like Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, Adams, and many more. If it were to happen today, Lord and a lot more would be needed.

So many great comments and I agree with all of them. Clearly, we all appreciate the stories, Tara, and the time and effort it takes you to get them to us. I’d say it’s like we are the baby robins and you are the mother robin dropping the “worms of knowledge” to us . . . but I think that analogy makes me a bit queasy ! 😵‍💫
