Another amazing account of a man without thought for his own safety acted courageously and saved the lives of his platoon. Thankfully he recovered from the wounds he suffered later on, came home and lived a full life. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
“We cherish too the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.”
-Miona Michael
Moina Belle Michael was an American professor and humanitarian who conceived the idea of using poppies as a symbol of remembrance for those who served in World War I.
What a wonderful story of heroism to start off my week.. i am in DC having just ridden from Ontario CA with "Run For The Wall". "Riding For Those Who Can't". I spent Saturday visiting the Memorials. My father was in the Pacific Theater in WWII, Many of the riders were veterans, so it was a very emotional day. Thank you Tara for bringing these men to light.
What a great story about another great American soldier! This brave warrior was willing to sacrifice all for the good of his fellow soldiers and for the cause of freedom! Thank God he lived to enjoy that freedom!
Paul J. Wiedorfer, you sir, were a great American Hero whose brave actions saved many on your way to liberate Belgium from the German forces. May God continue to bless you and all of the Greatest Generation on this Memorial Day. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
Chances are that Pvt. Weidorfor had no inclination to awards or accolades when he made the choice to take the action that he did that day. However his action did save lives in his unit, and cleared the way for it complete the mission assigned to it. The promotion, and the MOH he was awarded were well deserved.
How can you not love this man for his brave moves, risking his life, to take the pressure of machine guns off his platoon? How many others were killed trying something similar? Simply amazing! Thank you, Paul J. Weidorfer, for your courageous service to out country. May you rest in peace. May those who died in service to our country also find us grateful and rest in peace as well.

Extreme valor under heavy fire to save his fellow troopers and win the battle over the Tyrant of the time!
Thank you, Tara, for this story of bravery under fire that I had not heard of before!
Someone had to do something and I just did it. Changed the situation in his favor. A leader in the rough. RIP Sir. Thank you for your service.
