Hero’s must have a special place in heaven. These men and women know no boundaries in the service of their country yet they all say they were only doing what needed to done to help others. God Bless them all.
Another amazing story of a selfless soldier who went above and beyond to do extraordinary deeds. Though Regan is among the little known heroes the result of his actions are still felt today. So many brave heroes have done their part which they felt was their duty to do. Thanks for bringing one more to our attention.
Loved this story, perhaps even better than the Sgt. York one where he picked off Huns like he was at a turkey shooting contest. We Irish would call Lt. Regan either suicidal or a real "chancer."
What an amazing story of bravery! His action saved the lives of so many of our soldiers and made that part of their offensive possible. Well deserved CMH!
Before I fall asleep at night, my prayer is always, “Lord, raise up unknown heroes, who will stand on the (walls) and ready themselves to give the ultimate sacrifice as we have known in American history!”
I can sleep well, as I know God has ordained these young soldiers to stand in the gap for freedom.
The actions that day, of Lt. Regan can easily be called audacious, and even foolhardy, yet successfully achieved the outcome that was needed. And then only accepting medical care after a direct order to do so speaks volumes of his dedication to finishing what needed doing.
The Donald ( Old Bone Spurs ) would call him “ a loser “ or “sucker” just as he described the fallen GIs buried in Normandy when he was at a WWII memorial service during his presidency .
Patrick Regan was an important WW1 MOH Awardee. His brave actions included capturing 30 enemy prisoners singlehandedly along with their machine guns while his only weapon was an empty pistol. He was seriously wounded during this action. Lt. Regan was definitely an American Hero for his amazing action. The wounds he received apparently caused continued poor health and his death at a young age.
May God continue to bless this great Hero along with all who have served in the defense of this wonderful nation. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
May God rest his soul, and the souls of all our military heroes who have fallen. 🙏✝️
