Sgt. Oscar G. Johnson Jr, MOH awardee and lone survivor of a 2 day and 2 night battle that left over 200 Germans dead and others who surrendered just wanted to be home on his farm. His amazing achievement happened in Italy during WW2.
God bless the Greatest Generation and men such as Mr Johnson and God bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
A brave soul indeed. God must have put His full armor of protection on Sgt. Oscar G. Johnson, Jr. and let his angels provide shields of protection around him. And yes another humble man that just wanted to go back home and farm. what a brave dedicated soldier he was.
Extreme bravery and no doubt he had a Guardian Angel watching over him. Like so many he only thought he did his job, MoH members are the humblest of men! Great story Tara!!!
Quite a story of a lone hero fending off the enemy for 2 days and nights without sleep. Have to wonder what was going through his mind all that time. Thank you Oscar Johnson Jr.
The long narrow badge above his left shirt pocket appears to be the Combat Infrantryman’s Badge (CIB), introduced in 1943 to recognize the service of the “poor bloody infantry”
What a story of unrelenting courage! This is what our fighting force is made of, men who will do whatever it takes to push through to victory. Well done, Sgt. Johnson!
Above and beyond the call the call of duty ✨️ Sgt Johnson was remarkable those two days what more could be asked! Thank you Tara for another great MOH 👍 👌
Against impossible odds Oscar Johnson Jr. held his position alone for two days and 2 nights and survived the ordeal. It must have seemed like an eternity to Sgt. Johnson. It amazing that he was able to help those who had come to help him. He, like many others, did his job and just wanted to return home to his quiet farming life. So thankful for all the men and women who have stepped up to meet the needs of their country. We are greatly in need of patriots like them.

Our farm near Mineral Wells, TX was used as part of Fort Wolters during World War Part II to train Army soldiers, including Audie Murphy.
Thanks Tara Ross!

...always appreciative when Someone takes the time to honor our War Heroes and Veterans.
Amazing accomplishment in defence of his comrades. Most MoH stories are above and beyond. This one exceeds that term ten fold.
Thanks Tara. This story is above most.
Just incredible that he could handle this for two days and nights by himself.
Thank you, Tara, for another well-written tale of American grit, strength, and valor. 🇺🇸✌️🇺🇸✌️
Brilliant story well told. 👏👏
