I am familiar with the Airborne Eagle Patch but did not know its history. Thank you for the history of this famous Eagle and its Company C.

This a delightful story. Old Abe must have been a very special bird to do all the things he did. I’ve always thought the eagle was a magnificent bird and a good choice as the US National bird. Loved this post, Tara!

What a great read as always! My family is from the Corinth area. Actually, Michie, which is my namesake.

This makes it more special to me. We still see eagles soaring down the river, hunting along the river edge, and resting in nearby trees. They are such a majestic bird!

As always, a great post. I DM'd commentary referencing Someone's post about Bazooka Charlie being a movie character- an idea Everyone should promote.

Reading this story...I'm thinking: Today's kids could use better cartoons. In the vein of Yesteryear's GI Joe...what if our Screamin' Eagle, Bazooka Charlie and others became a cartoon amalgamation series of Our Heroes?
