James Wilson was right! I wonder what those who feared a big and powerful national government would think of the US today?

Today we can fully understand some of their justifiable concerns. When government gets to big and too powerful things can quickly deteriorate. When all three branches aren’t working as intended we end up with an out of control bureaucracy. By sharing ideas and listening to each other they were able to put together a pretty remarkable document. Today it doesn’t get the attention and respect it should get. Maybe we are slowly waking up and we can fix what has been broken. Always interesting posts of our history, Tara. Thank you!

The Constitution today is still a shining example of great government! We need to uphold it, use it to protect the citizenry from overreach by those elected to SERVE. The amendments are there to strengthen our rights.

And so goes the ongoing experiment with our American Democracy. I can understand different points of view and having reservations about not signing the Constitution. What I can’t abide is the abuse of power to intentionally ignore it.

And look how far it has carried us todate. For all of its imperfections, it has still endured to bring us to one of the most productive countries the world has ever seen. Now as we prepare to embark upon a new direction, may God direct all of our elected officials do what is best for our Nation.

Thank you Tara. It is not realistic to think that all who attended or were appointed but who failed to attend would have agreed with the final work product which was our Constitution. However, much more than a majority did agree and most signed the Constitution and, that was nearly the same as a death sentence for them should the British succeed in quelling the Revolution.

It is interesting to see that as perfect as the Constitution is, not all either agreed with it or otherwise failed to endorse it with their signature.

We Americans would be wise to remember James Wilson's quote about our form of government!

I agree with those who felt the National Government would become to powerful. It has in many ways and Congress should go back to school until they learn the proper way to govern.

Happy Day after Election Day all. Be kind to those who feel the world has ended.

Thank you Tara.

🇺🇸 Franklin's quote after the convention is still a good question today..."a Republic, if you can keep it." 🇺🇲
