While King was a well versed orator, as a minister of the Gospel off Jesus Christ, he was often influenced by the Spirit of God which dwelled within him to speak beyond what he had prepared to say. On this day it was certainly an influence from above which overcame him and he spoke from his heart to share that divinely inspired dream. After all, Scripture does say that it is god who gives the dream.
I really felt that speech was divinely inspired and we can use some come to Jesus moments right now. Especially with this election. Are we going to vote based on facts, abilities, platforms, the content of character? Or are going the way of identities, invented perceptions, vibes, propoganda and the neon gods sculpted by the media. We really do have to dig deep as a nation to excavate our better selves...where we throw aside misconceptions based on the outer persona to get to the heart and soul of who we actually are. I do feel Satin is at work seeking the ruin of the very soul of this nation. Certainly many have already sold their souls...caving to DEI practices, elevating things less than virtuous like abortion and gender affirming surgeries on children. But if freedom is to survive, we must choose virtue as in King's speech. Many of our founders recognized that virtue was a necessary ingredient in a free society. I pray this nation has a similar come to Jesus moment as King did while giving this speech. I do not want to think of the consequences if we do not.
The memory of those days brings tears to my eyes. We were all so hopeful that day would come. Today, the color of skin has been touted by the extreme left as all important, that your character matters not at all. We all need to remember those words and look to our own character so we can truly say free at last!
I remember hearing his speech. I was very moved and the "content of their character rather than the color of the skin" has stayed with me my entire life. I too have wondered often where we would be if JFK, MLK, and Bobby Kennedy had lived. I know who is in control and I trust Him to guide us as needed.
What a remarkable man and leader. And, what a speech. I have always wondered where we would now be had Reverend Martin Luther King Jr and President John F. Kennedy had lived to see their visions materialized.
May God bless the memory of Dr.
King and may he continue to bless the United States of America. Thank you Tara for another history lesson.
This was a good time to recount this and “get a peek behind the scenes”. I hope the pendulum is swinging back to the content of character and away from the color of skin. One day heaven will be a mix of every color, every nationality, and every ethnicity . . . but we will be one and won’t notice any of that.
He was a great leader who by some miracle managed to address the race issue in a way that could unify all Americans. His dream was something a lot of people of all ethnic backgrounds relate to even now. I vaguely remember him from my childhood. I’m glad I learned more about him as time went by. Leaders like King are few and far between. Mahalia Jackson and Martin Luther King! What a great combination.
"...I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character..." Personal responsibility and colorblind. He dreamed of the *chance* to be judged on character for everyone. That isn't the message I hear anymore from CRT folks.

A man of courage with no deceit or guile possessing confidence in God and an affirmed calling by the Holy Spirit.

How far we’ve fallen…

All sides can learn from this speech. Martin Luther King Jr. is my favorite hero. Now please just believe in God as he told us too.
Thank you Tara. Awesome is an understatement for today's lesson.
Exactly Right Jack ✅️ 👏 👌

Speech that must be heard by each generation! 🇺🇸❤️
A GREAT man, Dr. Martin Luther King, heard the words from the Lord and used those words from his “Dream” to change the course of America!
God bless Dr. King!
Thank you, Tara, for this story of Good over the evil of Racism!
