Another example of Divine Intervention? Sure seems like it. Sgt. Mitchell Paige led a nearly impossible stand against many more Japanese and he survived while standing the enemy down.

Paige was another MOH hero who survived against impossible odds and his Bible was open to a verse that explained his outcome.

God bless the Greatest Generation including Mitchell Paige and all who serve or have served this great nation. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.

Stories of great courage are the way we view our heroes. We know them to be unwilling to quit, even in the face of grave danger. Thank you, sir, for your wonderful example.

The difficult and almost impossible situations in war certainly speak to Divine Intervention. There’s no doubt God is very interested and involved in His creation. I would venture a guess that Sergeant Paige was only one of a host of military personnel that believe in the existence of a Divine Presence helping their efforts. The horrific events the military experience would be hard to speak about and they would never forget it. So thankful for those willing to sacrifice and fight for the US. Love of country is a great motivator.

1000 Japanese to 33 Marines ! And our guys held them off ! ! Definitely Divine intervention. I think I could make those numbers into a Marine recruiting campaign . . . although that fits right in with “the few, the proud, the Marines” ! Just fantastic. All heroes.

Those are my favorite Bible verses! I’d love to read his citation. His personal story is great, but it’s resplendent with humility.

You could easily presume a bayonet through his hand would have rendered that it fairly useless or much diminished. I love reading MOH stories.

Proverbs is in the Opd Testament, not the New Testament. What fell out was the Bible which includes both testaments.

Other companies were bringing him ammo: I figure they had ammo to bring because of all the casualties in those companies. What a story!
