Wow! Can you imagine what she would write were she born in our time.

Mercy Warren was indeed an American Hero and I am pleased that you have written about her Tara. Thank you. I don't believe that I have heard of her before.

Ms. Warren must have been a feisty lady to have been so bold during her time. To publish as a woman during the time of the Revolutionary War was undoubtedly frowned upon but to publish anonymously and to be read must have been quite a feat. Our history is amazing and it is rich in details about characters such as Mercy Otis Warren.

Love Mercy Otis Warren and often post her statue & this quote at my Page. I’ve purchased her history of the United States...but confess I haven’t yet read it...

a bronze statue of Mercy Otis Warren located on the grounds of the Barnstable County Courthouse in Massachusetts.

“America has fought for the boon of liberty…Guard it on every side that it might not be sported away by the folly of the people or the intrigue or deception of their rulers." – Mercy Otis Warren

She wrote that “every domestic enjoyment depends on the unimpaired possession of civil and religious liberty.” I think we understand what she means from our experiences over the last 2-1/2 years.

Thank you, Tara, for another history lesson! I don’t remember hearing of Mercy prior to this but am very glad that I have received the history lesson!

Mercy is not Joseph Warren’s sister...she married James Warren, who I think is a distant relative of Joseph Warren, but not sure about that 🤔
