Overcoming long practiced attitudes and biases towards people will only become the norm when we begin to live from a frame work of human flourishing. Recognizing the value of each individual and their giftedness. Then our country will reap the rewards of their contributions with far less individual struggle. Thankful for her perseverance else many would have missed out on her expertise.

Mary Feik owed her determination and mechanical knowledge to her father. The rest of her many astonishing achievements were earned due her abilities, talent and hard work.

Ms. Feik was an amazing woman. Thank you Tara.

Love this post, Tara! Learning about individuals who pursued their dreams & never gave up is such an uplifting message for people young and old. I think the reason I loved reading biographies since I was a kid was because learning about how others navigated the twists & turns of their lives provides advice & warnings for traveling through our own lives.

I love this passage from your post about Mary Feik...

“On each certificate is the advice that her dad offered to her: “Aim high and follow your dreams.”
