Courage in the face of insurmountable odds, the willingness to sacrifice himself to save his warriors, all this and more show the indomitable spirit of the American fighting man. Pray we show the same as the government encroaches more and more into our freedoms.

What a tremendous young man. He took the responsibility for his men so very seriously and allowed them to live.

Medal of Honor Mondays are always an inspirational way to start off your week. Although I have been retired for several years now, it would have been a blessing to have had these stories when I was working. It is now a blessing to hear about the men and women I served with during my life. Makes me want to continue to serve my Country, but in a different way. Volunteer to make a difference in someone else’s life and be the change society needs.

Thank God for people with courage to step up to secure their comrades lives, in spite of the possibilities, that they might be going home at the end of the confrontation!!

Marvin "Rex" Young was definitely an American Hero and, his Posthumous Award was for his bravery and determination. Mr. Young gave his life to be certain that he had provided escape and safety to his platoon members. His leadership and his love for his country is what people remember when they speak of him. What better attributes could anyone have? Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.

Another great Medal of Honor Monday story Tara. It is always very sad to learn these American hero’s sacrifice their lives in the call of duty. Most so young, just beginning there life.

The dedication Odessa, Texas made to two of these hero’s is heartfelt and worthy of Mr Young’s selfless sacrifice.

Thank you Tara for this story and all you do.

These acts of selfless men are an example the younger generation needs, especially in an era that views such heroics as “toxic masculinity.” In my day we just called it guts.

By the way, could I put in a plug for a fellow New Mexican, Daniel D. Fernandez, in one of these segments?

He did what was required for others. A quality I would hope we all have when needed. An example for all to share with others.
