Great story of a great woman who supported her husband and endured more that we can imagine. Her passing was also the passing of a founding mother of our country! Thanks Tara!!!

A very powerful story of undying love. George and Martha Washington should truly be honored as the Parents of our Newly Born Country. Honor, Dignity & Love everlasting!

In youth death is a thief. But, if you live to be old enough it becomes a friend to be treated with gratitude and with the excitement of reuniting with all who have gone before.

She and George were apart for so long at times that it is no wonder that his death devastated her.

some ladies take being widowed with grief, others understand that it is OK for their loved one to go ahead as they are hurting

🇺🇲 Grief is a sadness known only to those who have truly loved. Her husband sacrificed much for this young country, and she sacrificed much so he could...

Thank you, TR. 🇺🇲

Beautiful tribute to a very strong woman. I read Martha was the one who actually financed the founding of our country (through the wealth of her first husband, deceased).

Thank you Tara. History of our country is an adventure, some of it more pleasant; some of it not, all so very important. I appreciate the work of your writings that not only reminds us of so many events, but also keeps us in touch with the many men and women who contributed to those events. I’m so glad for the historians who preserved this history for us, and for the historians who remind us of it. Thank you, again.
