You could plant President Lincoln in the Whitehouse today and he could speak these same words to America in 2023. May we turn from our wicked ways and humble ourselves before our Mighty God.
We are reaping the effects of the policy’s of our government and legal decisions of our court system. We have pushed God and the values the country was founded upon out. The country is now a giant ship without a rudder that’s being pushed by the winds and waves of a secular and godless society.
If our people will fall on their knees, humble themselves and confess their sins to God, perhaps then God will raise up godly people to lead our nation once again. 🙏🙏🙏❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I can't agree more than with President Lincoln regarding our need to find God. I don't know if we have enough believers to make the difference today but I pray to God for the people of this nation to believe and to worship the word of God.
If it isn't too late, I believe that it is our only salvation as the United States of America. Thank you Tara.
Just as the Israelites were, we are a stiff-necked people, bent on going our own way. We have raised up idols and removed God from our schools and public square. We are rewriting the history of our nation...which is "HIStory"...a nation ordained by the Almighty's hand and blessed with generations of abundance and freedom. As in the past, we need leaders like Lincoln...who are true believers...and we need the people to rise up and collectively cry out to our God to forgive us and to restore His hand of protection over our nation...We need a revival!!
Abraham Lincoln was a God fearing man and spoke openly of the faith he lived. His words ring as true today as the day he spoke them. An excellent book on Lincoln and his faith is: Abraham Lincoln A Man of Faith and Courage by Joe Wheeler. Our country would be so much better if there were more “leaders” and people with that kind of faith and respect for God.
Mr. Lincoln was truthful! This is what we need more of today! There are too many brainwashed folks today that really don’t care about what happens to this country unless it suits them. I can only pray for a more enlightened generation who sees it for what it is.
I am reminded that God does not need a multitude to win this struggle, although that would be awesome. He gave Gideon only 300 men to fight his victorious battle. But, God does want the heart of a nation. Is the heart of our nation reflected in the leadership we have elected to office? I pray not. Lincoln's admonition is as relevant today as it was then. Prov. 16:18
For reasons no different than in 1863, we, as a country, hold to the belief that it is We the People that hold our country’s future in our hands… forgetting that it is the Lord God that created that hand…

The more things change, the more they stay the same. This quote could have been written yesterday. Wow!

Basically we are reaping what we as a voting populace are willing to accept... :(

When I was a young girl (in my teens). )in the 60’s)..my dad told me that God is the glue. Without God all things will fall apart. So true! 🙏🏻🇺🇸

As true today as was yesterday.
Let us all pray for the fire of revival, a Great Awakening, so that God may heal our land.

We should definitely pray to God still, and humble ourselves before Him, but nobody else! Let's still fight our enemies....

Lincoln had/has a point there.
The wheel turns.
