Love every Medal of Honor post. It’s important to know their names and their heroic actions. Interesting fact that he is the uncle of his namesake musician Lenny Kravitz. Kind of sad that the musician is more well known and famous than his uncle. PFC Leonard M. Kravitz saved all those lives at the cost of his own…the mark of a true hero.
Thank you, Tara! Where would we all be without you?! We truly need these history lessons.
Valor, honor and patriotism aren’t the household words they used to be.
This throw away and handout culture would rather leave it up to politicians to figure out, and we know oh too sadly how pitiful they are at resolving conflicts.
Hero Leonard Kravitz literally took on the enemy singlehandedly and while he eventually lost his life, he saved the other members of his unit. His bravery allowed the others to escape to safety while he volunteered to provide cover, knowing that he would most likely not make it home alive.
That, is the definition of an American Hero and a worthy recipient of the MOH. Well done PFC Kravitz. God bless you Sir and God bless all who serve or have served this great nation.
I'm sure this series is quite the undertaking. It has been hard for me to read. It seems like every week I have something fly into my eyes before I can finish reading.
Another selfless American! PFC Kravitz was an amazing soldier who certainly deserved the MOH. Thanks, TR, for this historical rendition of PVT Kravitz’ action of putting others before himself.
