It’s almost beyond comprehension the heroic acts that are done for country and fellow soldiers. This man went above and beyond his duty. He not only survived, but chose to truly live. Another great MOH account.

Young Mr. Carpenter is a prime example of the contract made between the individual and the military, a promise fulfilled by pledging his "life and his sacred honor" to protect the Constitution of the U.S. and, by extension, those who live under its protection. And to endure the horrific pain and years of rehab is amazing unto itself, and yet he ramps it up yet another several notches to run marathons on behalf of his fellow wounded veterans. Semper Fi, Sir! And may God continue to bless you and keep you in His Grace.

“I joined the Marine Corps,” he explained, “because I wanted to devote my life, my body, if need be, to something greater than myself or any one individual.”

Seems his Medal Of Honor journey began on the mission field where inspirational perspectives and lives are formulated in the heart of a man by The One who laid down His Life for Kyle Carpenter long ago.

Kyle Carpenter is exactly the right person to carry the "Beautiful burden". Being a MOH recipient carries an immense responsibility as an emissary to the nation.

The difficulties he overcame to survive and heal were above comprehension and the sacrifice he made to save a fellow Marine is difficult to imagine. I salute you Sir . Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday and for restoring the full story to Facebook. May Facebook be as thankful as your readers.

Amen. Sacrifices again and again is what it is all about. To make your life count you must live it every day no matter how that day plays out. Well done Kyle! We all are so proud of you!
