Thank you, Tara, for this inspiring story of a lady who risked everything for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! I had never heard of Kate Barry before but Kate Barry must be long remembered by all!

Apart from you, Tara Ross, how would we know of Kate Barry, "...another unsung heroine who deserves to be remembered[!!]" Like many (many, many) I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into finding these, often (commonly) unsung heroes and heroines of the history of our nation; and then the time to distill the essence of their stories and put them to print. Without them, as a group, we certainly would not exist as the nation we are today! Without you, we would not know. Thank you, Tara Ross!

These are the people who MADE AMERICA GREAT IN THE BEGINNING . Kate Barry , regardless of legend vs fiction , was a PATRIOT . Her daring deeds and conviction to help secure an American victory in the southern part of a young America should be celebrated in schools across America today. Especially when there are women out there looking for. REAL HEROINES HERE SHE IS ! That great question , where would America be without a Kate Barry ? Probably a divided country with merry old England still entrenched in the southern parts of America . Think about that the next time your looking for a young woman leader in todays society .

I appreciate this story for several reasons. I’ve visited Cowpens several times. But this is the first time I’ve heard of Kate Barry’s role.

Daniel Morgan deserves due credit for applying his vast experience to the tactical needs of the landscape and situation. The brave, determined, and steadfast militia, never cited by name, who mustered on those fields to face dreaded enemy fire. And the role Patriot citizens played in and after every battle. Provisioning, sheltering, medical care, couriers, spies, transportation, and in some cases, joining the fray to help encourage and turn the tide.

Some women are just born for greatness. Obviously Kate was one of them. The USA is fortunate to have had many in our past and have some today that history will write about. Gotta love them all, even those that won’t make it into the history books. ❤️❤️❤️

So much is lost to history as we trundle on, simply because the actual facts are not recorded and legends become myth and myth legends. Kate Barry is of that line, a true heroine we know almost nothing about. Thanks for this remembrance, Tara!

Much is not known about Kate, but what is known about her is that she made a difference in the conflicts of her time and she was highly esteemed by the men fighting. We’re thankful for all our heroes and heroines throughout our history who did what they could to establish and preserve our fragile republic. Thank you, Tara, for all your research into even the most obscure or unknown patriots.

It's hard to believe little, unassuming Cowpens was so decisive a place during the Revolutionary War. I drive past it every now and then to get to my son's place in Spartanburg. Thanks for adding Kate Barry to the list of heroes from this area of the country.
