Betsy Tara Ross I think it's wild that our leaders still come to blows in and around Congress! I do miss the duels though. 😉

A self made man filled with desire to better himself. This is what America is about and he helped create the dream into reality. Love the posts on the “signers”

John Penn is an example of what it means to be an American. Given a chance, nearly anyone who has the ambition and who works hard can make it in America. A man with little formal education, sees an opportunity, studies hard and becomes a successful lawyer and statesman. Rather than seek the spotlight, Mr. Penn was content to work in relative anonymity to seek freedom.

Such is the story of the majority of Americans. People who work hard to succeed but whom prefer to seek their fortune without public acclaim. Thank you Tara. An excellent example of an American success story.

Interesting piece of history. Penn truly lived the American dream. With hard work and preservation he made his mark for good on the birth of this country. So many unknown or little known people did their part in building a strong republic. Penn wasn’t always on board, but once he changed his mind about Britain he put his whole strength into creating a freedom based government that so far has stood until today.

There are many who do good work in the shadow of the acclaimed. There are enough of them to fill the seats in government for years to come and would refresh government with fresh approaches and ideas. Yet we keep electing the same "Acclaimed" politicians, year in and year out.

Escapes the shortfalls of his family to almost succumbing to “honor on the field”!
