Lt. Jimmie W. Monteith Jr. was a leader of men and he certainly proved that at Normandy and at the opening day of fighting. Lt. Monteith was posthumously recognized for his selfless actions with the MOH and those actions probably saved many American lives while it cost him his own life.
God bless Lt Monteith and all of the Greatest Generation. Their bravery is unsurpassed. May God also bless all who serve or have served this great nation. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
Amazing what this man and others did on D-day, we have no idea how bad it was. Even the movie "Saving Private Ryan" didn't do it Justice, they are truly the Greatest Generation! Thanks Tara!
RIP is certainly the least we can pray for. May our Gracious Heavenly Father have a special place in Heaven for all of those who sacrificed so much so others could be free of treasonous others.
Even a Medal of Honor can’t compensate for the loss of life. His sister and other family suffered a great loss. All the honor heaped upon Monteith could not wipe away their tears and sorrow. It’s important to remember both the men who fought so valiantly and the families left behind.
It is encouraging to hear these stories of bravery and sacrifice. Lt. Monteith saved many lives that day by going well over and beyond any duty expected. Hold him and those who fought that day in honor.
Lt. Monteith may have dropped out of Virginia Tech, but he was NOT a quitter, and that decision led him to the beaches of Normandy, where he sacrificed his life to save others and gain a foothold in Europe. Thank you, sir.

We know these men are heroes for all time and America is better for their efforts, but we have to sympathize with the loved ones they left behind.

An amazing story of leadership and outstanding service. He was instrumental in the success of D-Day Day 1. A hero whom I will not forget. Thanks Tara.

Another reminder of why they are the greatest generation. To learn more about D-Day specifically I highly recommend Stephen Ambrose's book D-Day.
🇺🇲 An amazing man in a unique time. Rest in Peace Lieutenant. 🇺🇸
Thanks, TR.
I have no words to describe what I read about Jimmie. What a wonderful man.
Well Done. I never tire of these sharings. Thank you very much!
