TDIH: Jefferson on Rebellion
"I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the Atmosphere."
On this day in 1787, Thomas Jefferson writes a letter to Abigail Adams. Hmm. Would he be “allowed” to express such a sentiment today?
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions," Jefferson wrote Abigail, "that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the Atmosphere."

Great article. Sadly, I think today Mr. Jefferson’s comment resonates with true patriots. The current government is not serving the citizenry very well at all.
I think his words were meant to encourage the US government to function in such a way as for rebellion to be unnecessary. I'll 👍, follow, and share all your posts!
