I am fairly certain that I know what Mr. Jefferson would be thinking. Dark thoughts concerning sympathizers versus patriots and perhaps thoughts of punishments for the selling out of a noble start for an anguishing ending. Dark thoughts indeed of people so easily relinquishing such a hard fought accomplishment.
Founder Jefferson would be appalled at what the Citizens have given up, Life- Liberty-Pursuit of Happiness, for the promise of an easier life under government control!
Thank you, Tara, and have a VERY Merry Christmas and a GREAT New Year!
I wonder and would like to have that conversation with the founders. I feel they would be in shock how our world, government and religion have evolved.
Words of a man who had his liberty restricted and threatened after having lived in liberty and enjoyed self government under the crown. But the had tasted liberty and wanted a full serving of it! Still, that generation recognized the importance of a strong moral basis which reflects duty to serving others was an essential part of liberty. That is why they ascribed to Christianity and its relational beliefs towards God and humanity. Without that foundation our culture will surely crumble as did the Romans did in that moral corruption tore their society apart and they did not have the strength to maintain their integrity as a unified government which could not protect the borders. And Rome fell.

Interesting how the suppression of liberty has led to the lack of law and order in America, which carries with it its own "incononveniencies" as Mr. Jefferson would put it, for liberty loving citizens. Everything begins at the top.
Knowing what we know about Jefferson seems like he would be very troubled by our government antics at this juncture in time. Perhaps he’d be disappointed in many Americans who have grown lazy and self-centered. Thanks for all you’ve shared this year, Tara. Looking forward to another year of learning more of our history. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.
And he, and the rest of the signers, knew what true tyranny was and what it was like to have no liberty. We have become complacent, soft, and lazy. Our previous generations of patriots deserve better than what we are, currently, contributing to the preservation of our dear Republic. The past two days have proven, once again, how far we have fallen.
Wish we had some sensible leaders like Thos. Jefferson today. It would take many men and women in D.C. to get our country back to what our founding fathers envisioned.

I am in full agreement with Mr. Jefferson.

I agree with Mr. Jefferson.
I think Mr. Jefferson would be appalled at us if he saw us today. Thanks for all you do, Tara. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
me too
❤️❤️❤️
More than likely amazed at the technology of today and shocked at the immorality of a government that doesn't protect it's borders.
Merry Christmas, Tara!!! 🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas to you, too!
He would be so disappointed I think.
