The HISTORY of our nation is so very important to the future of our nation!

The good, the bad and the ugly must be passed down otherwise the ugly and bad will be tried again and again!

Thank you Tara!

Tara, you are so good to pass along facts of history, rather than Woke speculation. The latter is what I see more often, on social media, concerning the influence of Thomas Jefferson.

All of our history is so important. Thank you for making the time to share it with us. I suspect Jefferson and others who were instrumental in building our great nation would be sadden by the state of it at this point in time. Another excellent post, Tara.

Thank you again Tara. And a shoutout to all of your History followers. So glad to see that many of us share a love for the past and (I hope) the conviction that understanding History in the context of the times in which men and women lived and Historical events occurred is essential to understand the evolution of Mankind and Society itself.

Thank you Tara. I am certain that Jefferson would not approve of our rewriting of history at every turn.

If it offends the senses of the ones currently in favor, it must be eliminated. Such as removing statues. Because the person whose likeness was important enough to have a statues made may have done something considered wrong today, we remove the statue rather than accept history, warts and all.

You ask what Jefferson would think of what is happening now. I think Jefferson would be labled an "extremist". I think he would be canceled, deplatformed for his views by the enemies of freedom and liberty. Will we allow that sort of behavior to continue, or will we preserve our God given freedoms?

Thank you for your posts Tara.

I suppose it is nothing new that history is recorded with bias of the recorder, even if the recorder isn’t aware of their bias, But, that is why freedom of speech is essential to freedom 🇺🇸

I feel the same about every history book I own, I'd rather buy someone a new book than lend them mine. I know, sounds a little crazy....🤷

Jefferson was a brilliant man . I suspect that he completely understood how good the foundation and structure they worked so hard on in those hot , humid days in Philadelphia were.

Their initial outline was good and the debates and compromises hammered out along the way kept improving their work and finished products. In the process of working on this foundation that a new nation was being built on he realized the declarations and documents had to be flexible to accommodate changes that would be needed in the future . Preserving the facts , ideas and goals that were used in their deliberations could become of critical importance to those who would follow in their footsteps . using their work product and deliberations as maps needed to plot next steps in this great American Experiment. The “ why and how“ of what they did for each hard fought compromise they made to Create this amazing foundation , he knew, were important to keep for future generations. . That HISTORY could provide some insight and ,perhaps Inspiration and greater understanding as to the importance and thoughts behind the safeguards they built into this foundation ARE . The Importance of such things as - Separation of church and state , equal but separate branches of government with built in checks and balances , adoption of guaranteed ( the bill of ) rights etc — had to be made clear to all who follow .

Jefferson knew that knowing the what , when , how and why foundation plans were drawn originally would be critical to me builders of the future working to build a better America on the sturdiest foundation created to date .

History can provide both the anchors and sails to keep our ship of state moving towards even more beautiful horizons !

May God continue to bless and Protect America from All threats Foreign or Domestic !

🇺🇸🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
