Jefferson DeBlanc, another MOH recipient who felt that he did nothing special, just did his job.

Mr. DeBlanc bravely and calmly shot down 5 or 6 enemy planes on a mission where he knew that he couldn't make it back without bailing out. I call him a Hero. Thank you Tara.

Such courage! What might have happened had he not pushed forward, protecting the bombers? Mission accomplished--and then some! Thanks, Tara, for such a story.

🇺🇲 Colonel DeBlanc didn't think he'd done anything special. A refrain we hear from MoH winners.

Thanks for sharing his story, TR! 🇺🇸

Thanks for reminding us of the heroes in our midst. We never know who they are or when their moments are coming. Let us always be aware and never forget...

Another GREAT story of a Hero going into battle and taking down the enemy knowing he wouldn't be able to make the flight back to base! A GREAT man doing GREAT things in the face of whatever might happen to him!

Thank you, Tara, for this story of courage under known outcome!

An ace in one day! Not many can claim that feat. I know Chuck Yeager did. Anyone know of any others that shot down 5 planes in one day?

Jefferson DeBlanc ‘s story is familiar, but it’s always good to read about our courageous heroes and their brave deeds under dangerous circumstances. Like many others he received the medal on behalf of those who fought with him and those who never made it home.

Like all MOH recipients they all felt those who gave all were more brave than themselves, and thought the medals belong to them.
