Wow. Jay Vargas was a the youngest of four Marines in his family and he was awarded the MOH for extreme bravery and leadership during an extended series of battles. His ability to fight and to lead his men undoubtedly saved a number of lives while he personally knocking out enemy positions.
Colonel Vargas wears his Medal with pride for his fallen men, and he is a true American Hero. May God bless him and all who serve or have served to protect this great nation. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday.
Another amazing Medal of Honor hero! It’s hard to imagine all they went through for the USA, but also for other countries. Captain Vargas was typical of all the MOH recipients you’ve highlighted, Tara. Like Vargas they were outstanding leaders. They went ahead. They didn’t follow behind. Always look forward to Medal of Honor Mondays.
Medal of Honor represents the ultimate in; Bravery, Sacrifice, Skills, Humbleness, Honor and yes Love. We see it Tara’s stories every Monday. There is no other differences in these stories that are talked about of the recipients. God Bless them all!
Wow! Captain Vargas was beyond human during this battle. I am in awe as I cannot comprehend how a person can do so much in these circumstances. Glad he did as many benefits and saved lives were the outcome. God bless them all. Thank you Tara.
There have been over 3400 Medal of Honor recipients, but Tara plucks out the most exciting and deserving each week. Outstanding work, Tara. Thank you !

This common theme of wearing the Medal for the men who couldn't go home resonates with me! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Welcome home Captain Vargas! And thank you and all your men for their bravery and courage!
