Jane Kendeigh was the first to rescue wounded men from the battle ground and she paved the way for many others to swiftly medevac wounded to field and general hospitals. Her brave actions saved the lives of many. In later wars, survival chances increased significantly due to prompt evacuation to medical facilities. God bless Jane Kendeigh and all other first responders. Thank you Tara, from an old Navy Corpsman.
Courage under fire comes in many forms. This Nurse, and her colleagues demonstrated what I believe is the greatest form. She put aside fear in favor of serving the soldiers and marines under her care. We've heard her refrain, many times, from our most valorous, "I wasn't scared until it was over."
Jane Kendeigh was not only Hollywood beautiful but also a brave, tough and dedicated wartime nurse. Kendeigh and all the other nurses saved an unknown number of wounded servicemen in times of war. These are some of the lesser known and appreciated heroes in all our wars. The men who were saved are the ones who remember and appreciate best!
She sure was a pioneer in so many areas, and helped to develop processes and concepts that were built upon to make combat nursing and parachuting so much more effective! Thank you, Tara!
God had gifted her with that special strength and compassion so prevalent in women. That she was chosen to exercise that gift at such a young age is remarkable and deserves our admiration
“[O]ur rewards are wan smiles, a slow nod of appreciation, a gesture, a word—accolades greater, more heart-warming than any medal,” she concluded. Brave, selfless woman 🇺🇸

She had great strength, gumption, and purpose.

Yet another example of why we call them the greatest generation! Thank you Tara!
So brave at 22! How proud her family must have been. Thank you for another story about the trailblazers in our history!
