James Wilkinson has been called the “most notorious American traitor you’ve probably never heard of” and the “the most consummate artist in treason that the nation ever possessed.”
Agent 13, James Wilkinson was a scoundrel. It appears that he had one loyalty and that was to himself.
I have known a few who will do most anything nefarious to gain recognition or wealth rather than to focus on doing what would improve the whole as a member of the team or country.
James Wilkinson deserves to be exactly where he is, unknown.
One of my professors in college researched the Spanish attempts to stop Lewis & Clarke. Spain sent out a number of parties (3 I recall) with orders to stop the expedition. One party got within 60 miles of them but turned back. Given the distances traveled, that was a very close miss.
Wilkinson can’t hold a candle to a Commander in Chief who tries to become a dictator engineering an attack on Congress meeting to certify a peaceful transfer of power . 🤬
Later on, the Walker spy ring provided the Soviets with a treasure trove of top-secret security data. Walker was tied to the USS Pueblo, US aircraft shot down over the skies of Vietnam and probably most crucial, our underwater surveillance and soviet sub identification and tracking systems. He carried on as a KGB spy for many years while stationed in critical positions. He would probably rank as #1 spy in US History.
Wow I'm wondering would he fit in the administration we currently have today, asking for a friend 🤭

Thank you Tara.
Thank you, Tara.
They dug up the facts on a traitor!
Doing so was good for America and it’s Citizens!
Thank you, Tara, for putting this story out in the open!

Got off scot free? Perhaps the big guy upstairs will disabuse him of this idea. ;-)
Great story about an unknown scoundrel 😎.
Thanks for all the historical information you have been providing 😊🙏🙏🙏

The Professor once again pulls a little known bit of important American history out of a dusty closet! Well written, Tara Ross!
And in answering from another friend, the guy is a hero of Biden’s!

“most notorious American traitor you’ve probably never heard of.”, but now I have. Thanks, TR!
He tried to cause failure but failed himself. Good won over evil.
Wow I had never heard of him.
😲😲😲
It is fortunate that his treasonous activity did not impact our blossoming nation.
