Always humble. Always seeing their heroic acts as just doing their job. One can only imagine how those men felt watching one pilot with one plane protecting them. They probably felt that one Medal of Honor wasn’t enough of an acknowledgment for what Major Howard had done that day. He undoubtedly saved lives. This is a great story to start the week.
Words of a hero! Major James Howard must have seemed like an Africanized Bee to the German fighters as he attacked relentlessly, over and over, taking on 30 enemy fighters singlehandedly.
Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday. Another good one!
A true air jockey that risked life and limb to save the fleet. Yes another truly humble American Hero who so deserved his Medal of Honor. God Bless him.
An unbelievable story that if not witnessed by many would have been hard to prove. He was an exceptional pilot and mentor to many in his career. God rest his servant ways. Thanks Tara.
1 v. 30 ? ? Just incredible ! I think you’d have to be 1/2 crazy to be a fighter pilot (I mean that in a good way) and 100% loopy to take on 30 ! I wonder what the surviving Germans had to say when they landed ? Crazy Amerikans ! ! @&%# !
